Description of Work Unit

Teach the methodology and core content areas of academic psychology to approximately 940 undergraduates, and to educate and train approximately 95 graduate students in general psychology and in the specialities of Counseling, Applied Social and Health, Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

The Psychological Services Center is an integral part of Colorado State University serving the Department of Psychology as a training clinic for students in the APA-approved doctoral program in Counseling Psychology. As a community-oriented agency, the Center provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, families, social agencies, schools, legal, and medical professionals within the Fort Collins community and surrounding areas. PSC also providing specialized psychological assessments. Our graduates are trained to function in a complex, diverse, and pluralistic society, emphasizing ethical principles, knowledge and respect for individual, group, and cultural differences, and encouraging advocacy for marginalized and oppressed individuals.

Position Summary

This is a non-tenure track special appointment position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a 12 month contract renewable for up to three years following the first year. The position includes 60% effort in advising / supervision and teaching, and 40% effort in clinic administration. The clinic director is responsible to the Chair of the Department of Psychology and the PSC Advisory Board, and functions as the chief administrative officer of the clinic. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in clinical supervision, clinic administration and financial management, and graduate instruction. Candidates must be able to teach graduate level ethics, empirically supported treatments, and the PSC seminar. In addition, the candidate must be able to provide clinical supervision in both group and individual formats, and be licensed or license-eligible within one year in the state of Colorado.

Required Job Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology program, have completed an APA-approved internship, and be licensed within the state of Colorado within one year of start date.
