|Description of Work Unit||
The Student Success Initiatives (SSI) at CSU represent a comprehensive, multi-year, institutional investment in enhancing the learning experience, and in identifying and increasing indicators of student success. SSI approaches student success with a strong focus on learning and the quality of the educational experience. SSI strategies increase student engagement in learning across the curriculum and co-curriculum. Important to the implementation of SSI is the recognition of the diverse characteristics and experiences of the student population and careful attention to data and analysis to inform strategy.
An important part of the student success effort are the Integrated Planning and Advising Services, or IPAS, which provide a set of informational and data tools to inform advisors and students, and track student progress. The Assistant Student Success Projects Coordinator supports the IPAS initiative by serving as the bridge between the users of advising systems and information and the technology staff to coordinate the implementation of system interfaces and data integration. The intended results of this integrated approach of advising systems and data are improved advising, and increased retention and graduation rates. The position also manages the Landing Page projects, planning and monitoring the steps toward development and implementation of the Web-based sites that serve as the informational and resource hubs for students and advisors.
The Assistant Student Success Projects Coordinator reports to the Student Success Projects Manager who reports to both Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. The Assistant Student Success Projects Coordinator’s work is highly collaborative, and so the position works closely with many offices on campus such as the Registrar’s Office, Information Systems and the Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA).
The position receives guidance from their supervisor and staff from the Registrar’s Office, Information Systems, CASA, and Vendor Company contacts.
