Description of Work Unit

Colorado State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences/Colorado Agricultural Experiment Station Research Centers help address the economic viability, environmental sustainability, and social acceptability of activities impacting agriculture, natural resources and consumers in Colorado.

Position Summary

Temporary, Special, or Regular Research Associate positions (Level I, II, III, IV or Senior) may become available throughout the year. Possible openings are physically located at AES Research Centers in the western region of the State of Colorado such as: Western Colorado Research Center (WCRC); Southwestern Colorado Research Center (SWCRC); and San Luis Valley Research Center (SLVRC). Required Job Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized experience and/or training. Additional required qualifications, rank and salary determined by specific position to be filled. You must be willing to relocate/live in physical proximity to the center’s job location and eligible to work in the U.S. by employment start date.

  • Level I is an entry-level position for individuals with a bachelor’s degree or commensurate specialized experience and/or training and less than 3 years of professional experience.
  • Level II includes individuals with an RAI (Research Associate I) + 3 years experience or bachelor’s degree + 3 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree.
  • Level III includes individuals with RAII + experience or a bachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience, or a master’s degree + 2 years related experience or Ph.D.
  • Level IV includes individuals with a RAIII + experience or bachelor’s degree + 10 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD + 2 yrs. experience.
  • Senior Research Associate includes individuals with RAIV + experience or bachelor’s degree + extensive related experience or master’s degree + significant professional experience or Ph.D. + 5 years experience.
