Description of Work Unit

The Department of Health and Exercise Science reflects Colorado State University’s tripartite mission of research, academics and service. Faculty conduct cutting edge research in the state of the art facilities including basic, translational, and clinical applications in the area of chronic and age-related diseases. The undergraduate program consists of two concentrations that lead to the Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science: (1) Health Promotion and (2) Sports Medicine. Our graduate program offers a Master of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science and a Ph.D. in Human Bioenergetics. Our service/outreach programs serve a wide variety of populations providing an opportunity for physical activity and disease prevention.

Position Summary

The Department of Health and Exercise Science seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary non-tenure track teaching positions within the department. This is an Open Pool posting, and we may or may not need to fill positions from this pool before it expires. Applicants being considered for fall teaching appointments will be notified by July 15, for spring appointments by December 15, and for summer appointments by April 15.

Required Job Qualifications

For an Instructor-level appointment, a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline is required. For an Assistant Professor appointment, a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline is required.

Preferred Job Qualifications

One or more years university-level teaching experience.
