Description of Work Unit

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS). Colorado State University (CSU) is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. CSU is one of three core academic institutions that comprise the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI). Many faculty in Human Development and Family Studies engage in multidisciplinary research collaborations with faculty in other departments in CHHS, and other CCTSI institutions and affiliates. Position Summary

Researchers in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University (CSU) are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct secondary data analyses of clinical trials for a NIH funded study. The analyses will focus on evaluating cognitive inconsistency in multiple activity-based clinical trials of healthy older adults and those with mild cognitive impairment. Primary responsibilities include data procurement and organization, calculating relevant variables, performing data analyses, preparing conference presentations, and writing manuscripts for publication. These activities will be performed in consultation and collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Allison Bielak. Additional responsibilities include assisting the PI with literature reviews, progress reports, and assisting with the development of new grant applications. The postdoctoral fellow will also coordinate communications with collaborators from the clinical trials.

Required Job Qualifications

Must have doctoral degree in psychology, human development and family studies, or related field.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Experience working with longitudinal data analysis is preferred. In addition, prior research experience with activity engagement and/or intraindividual variability in cognitive speed is preferred.

Managing the longitudinal datasets, calculation of required variables, conducting statistical analyses, and data interpretation. Communicating with the PIs of the clinical trials. Preparing presentations at conferences, writing and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals. The post-doc will also complete the NIH mandated training on the ethical conduct of research.
